The Student Christian Movement (SCM) of Nigeria
The Student Christian Movement (S.C.M) of Nigeria is the Local expression of the World Student Christian Federation (W.S.C.F) based in Geneva, Switzerland; it’s a student/youth-based ecumenical interdenominational, non-racial, missionary organization, with a desk at UNESCO.
The Student Christian Movement (SCM) of Nigeria was founded in 1940 by Dr. Akanu Ibiam at Hope Waddell Training Institute, Calabar, and Pa Titus Oluseye Ejuwumi at the Old Yaba Higher College (now the University of Ibadan).
In the 88 years of her existence in Nigeria, the Movement has been a resource base for church and the society in the training of students in schools, building up godly model men and women, spearheading coordination of joint campus fellowships, mission work, leadership training programs, fight against all unrighteous vices in the society, etc. We are the handmaid of the church.
Our mandate is to the students and youth of our society, we carryout spiritual, moral ethics and social skills development with Academic tutoring that promotes the Physical, educational and life skills necessary to prepare and empower youth for leadership in their communities and success in their personal lives. We strive to serve in making the lives of young people more fitting for the realities of their days. In line with these, the SCM of Nigeria currently runs a network of members from Thirty nine (39) tertiary institutions, Eight hundred (847) secondary & primary schools branches, Township fellowships (also known as Christian Movement Fellowships (CMF) in twenty-nine (29) communities across Nigeria, Eight (8) active SCM Branches Alumni (senior friends) groups, International SCM Nigeria Senior friends network and support groups (in the USA, UK and Canada) and nine (9) active Senior Friends Network and Support Groups in twenty-four (24) states cut across the geo-political zones of Nigeria.

This conference focuses on raising a Christ-centered student movement across campuses. Students from diverse institutions gather to be discipled, trained, and mobilized for missions. It is a catalytic space where young leaders are empowered to live out their faith boldly, champion integrity, and foster unity both in their institutions and in wider society.
